Expenses:
Cost of Study ($US), Tuition fees for universities and colleges in Switzerland vary frominstitution to institution. The cost is approx. 410 to 3279 ($US) per semester. Living & Other Expense depends on the location of the university and personal demands, the cost is 1500 to 2400 ($US) per month including food, drink, leisure activities, transport, telephone, books, accommodation etc.
Foreign students who intend to stay in Switzerland for longer than three months must take out health insurance; this is obligatory. Students from states which provide international mutual aid are exempted from this obligation.Other students can be exempted if they have equivalent insurance cover in their home country.
Students from outside Switzerland normally have the right to work 15 hours a week, as long as it doesn’t disrupt their studies. However, the workload of postgraduate programmes restricts work activity. Applying to The University:
Check with the departments to see if there is a closing date for your application. You should write directly to the Institution's Admission Office for detailed application information and forms. Some universities have an on-line application facility, and you find information about it from the university websites. Admissions office will inform you about the documentation, translation, and visa requirements. You should start at least one year in advance to compile the necessary information and documentation. The decision of the institution is usually announced within approximately six to eight months of the application deadline.
